Mandy Patinkin Newark Concert reviews
Heartbreakingly disappointing
Wow, we were heartbreakingly disappointed. All I can say is my wife and I LOVE Mandy Patinkin. Given that she has a new album to promote, we were so looking forward to hearing "California Dreaming" and "Desperado" and ASSUMED she would play both given the obvious California connection!!!! Her playlist selection was odd at best, and not entertaining. We've seen her twice in Atlanta and really enjoyed both of her performances. So, we were excited to see her in Santa Barbara while on vacation and enjoy her take on pop songs from her latest album.
The crowd sitting around us was almost as shocked and disappointed as we were. I'm fairly certain we won't be seeing her live again. But will enjoy her playlist on my iTunes. I'm so happy we had two great experiences seeing DK, and perhaps sometimes the third time is NOT the charm.
Other than the title track Dylan tune, Mandy and her band played a whole bunch of different songs, many of which were just....not.....enjoyable.
